Near Hesperous, CO There were three attempts to build the Shalako Western Theme Park. Financially, Louis was only slightly involved, to the tune of a couple thousand dollars, in the first one. Mostly it was a case of companies using his name and general ideas to create the development. The first attempt was in the 1970s in Colorado, amd the development was intended to include a Museum, Western Village, Movie Lot, and an Anasazi Pueblo. The second was in New Mexico and then California in the 1980s, and the third was in Arizona in the 1990s. None of these projects came to fruition. This is a selection of artwork from the various different proposals.
