How do I navigate Louis L'Amour's Lost Treasures? - The first pageof each issue, which we call the "Current Edition Table of Contents" is the main page from which ALL articles, stories, notes, etc. are linked. All of the content in each issue starts and ends with the "Current Edition Table of Contents".

Here on the "Current Edition Table of Contents" page, each story is briefly described with a few notes from either Beau or I and then we give you just the first few lines from the story to allow you better choose where you would like to start. Each brief description is ended with the phrase "Continued . . ." or "Click HERE for more of this article . . . " By clicking on the "Continued . . ." or the "Click HERE for more of this article . . ." link, you will be taken to a series of web pages dedicated to that particular article.

At the bottom of each article page is a "Next Page >>" link, a series of page numbers and links to any related articles, as well as a link to return you to the "Current Edition Table of Contents" page. Navigate each article by clicking the appropriate link. Click the "Next Page >>" link to go to the next page. Click the number "3" to go to page three of the article (not page three of this issue but page 3 of that one article). Click the number "5" to jump to page five of the article. Etc. . .

Once you have finished reading an article, click the "Return to Current Edition Table of Contents" to return to the table of contents page and find another article to read.

It looks like a lot of the things here are unfinished. Are there any complete stories? - You will find many of the things in Louis L'Amour's Lost Treasures unfinished. But there are also a lot of completed works that we will be presenting to you. All of the adventure travel articles and articles about writing are complete along with the story treatments and much more.

The section of NOTES on the Sackett Family and on the novels is kind of confusing. Can you help me understand what I am seeing there? - The "Notes on the Sackett, Talon and Chantry Families" is by far the toughest section of the web site to present. God forbid that someone unfamiliar with the Sackett novels gets lost in there! There is no way to know when most of these notes were written. Many of the details in this section are different than they are in the final published novels. However these notes are the only clues we have to the true epic scope of Louis' vision for these three families. This section will be added to on an ongoing basis and we will leave it up in it's entirity once it is complete. In this manner we will try to give you a glimpse of Louis' grand scheme and hope that once we get all the trees in place that the forest is revealed.

How often will there be new material on the web site? - We hope to update the site every 4-6 weeks. Much like a magazine, we will be completely replacing the "Current" edition of materials once the next edition ready. As mentioned above, the Sackett, Talon and Chantry family notes will be a cumulative item that will be available on an ongoing basis. In addition, the Books Read by Louis section will be similarly added to and available all the time.

Will there ever be a Story Completion Contest or will a Ghost Writer ever be hired to complete some of these stories? - In short, NO. Louis' work was based on a lifetime of experience that can never be duplicated. His written words reflect his adventerous life and come from a totally unique set of life experiences. When Louis writes about the west, he writes from his own, first-hand knowledge. The L'Amour Estate has no intention of ever hiring a ghost writer to complete his unfinnished works. Add to this the intricacies of Intellectual property, and copyright laws which make it impossible to allow Story Completion Contests without opening up the possibility of those rights being called into question and you can begin to understand why the Louis L'Amour Estate has decided to allow Louis' work to stand as he left it.
